Samsung One UI 6.1.1

Samsung Devices And One UI 6.1.1 – The Most Speculated Combo

The Preamble

With the addition of multiple AI-powered capabilities, One UI 6.1 emerged as one of the most significant One UI releases in early 2024. One UI 6.1.1, a more recent version of the software, will replace One UI 6.1 in the second half of the current year. It will make its debut on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Samsung plans to formally unveil One UI 6.1.1 in July along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. After the Fold 6 and Flip 6 go on sale, One UI 6.1.1, an upgrade specifically designed for foldables, will be made available for tablets and previous foldables.

Samsung is not going to release One UI 6.1.1 for the majority of candybar Galaxy phones; this update is primarily intended for foldables and tablets. It’s possible that some flagships, like the Galaxy S24 and S23 series, may get its AI features; however, it’s unclear if Samsung would update the One UI version of such smartphones from 6.1 to 6.1.1.

On this page, let us discuss the difference that One UI 6.1.1 is likely to make to Samsung devices.

Improved Cover Screen Widgets for Z Flip Phones

Samsung is set to reveal the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 shortly. Nearly all of the features and specifications of the future foldables have found their way out in the press,, as is often the case with Samsung’s unannounced gadgets. Nevertheless, some recent photos of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 that have emerged in the press demonstrate how Samsung intends to enhance the cover screen widget experience.

The One UI 6.1.1 will allow a new feature that will let the users install multiple-sized widgets in one view on the cover screen of Galaxy Z Flip series phones. This feature might only be available on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, though those are the only phones with 3.4-inch cover screens. With the One UI 6.1.1 upgrade, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 might receive the similar widget rearranging option.

Samsung generally releases the One UI x.1.1 software with its foldable phones at launch. , And in the weeks that follow, it releases the same upgrade for its tablets. Many of those features may be coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 later this month or early next month with the One UI 6.1.1 updates.

Video AI – Another Unique Feature that Will Engross Users

“Video AI” is the “key functional innovation” that will be included in One UI 6.1.1. Unfortunately though, no clear information is available regarding the meaning or functionality of it, is available till now.

However, we may assume that it will either be a certain type of AI-powered enhancement of on-device video shooting, or a generative AI powered video production driven by prompts. Remember that this is just a speculation and the reality may differ little or widely!

Given that One UI 6.1 made its debut on the Galaxy S24 series at the previous Unpacked event, One UI 6.1.1 may be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 during the upcoming unpacked event in July.

Given the timing of the rumour, it’s possible that Samsung and Google collaborated on the development of this feature.

Improved Side Button Functionality

Samsung has affirmed that the side button on its handsets would perform better following the One UI 6.1.1 update.

Improvements to the side button’s functionality are going to make it  easier for consumers to utilise the button to operate their phones. Additionally, based on some reports, One UI 6.1.1 will likely include a considerable amount of changes, matching the size of One UI 6.1.

The AI Features

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 will include AI Graffiti in One UI 6.1.1. Although details are still awaited, it may aid users in improving their S Pen drawing skills and produce artwork. They will do so by using text suggestions to prompt users to create. It has been reported that the One UI 6.1.1 update would bring this feature to earlier Galaxy devices with the S Pen.

It can very well be assumed that the AI-powered sketching function from One UI 6.1.1 is likely to be released for Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 series devices. So far, Galaxy AI capabilities have only been available on high-end Galaxy phones and tablets, mostly from the Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, and Galaxy Z series.

One UI 7.0 may provide this capability to some smartphones like the Galaxy S23 and S24, normal phones often don’t receive One UI updates. However, nothing can be speculated in concrete till there is any official announcement from the company.
